2007 Tourism Workforce Development Plan
The role of the Research element of the Tourism Skills Network is to identify skills needs and matching supply in education and training provision. This involves producing and maintaining the Regional Workforce Development Plan through research and with input from each local skills Coordinator.
The role also involves identifying best practice skills development activity and seeking to adapt and utilise the activity for the benefit of the industry in the South West region.
To maintain links with the training providers, the role also links with and seeks to support the CoVE (Centres of Vocational Excellence) network and is a member of the Aim Higher group working with higher education.
Available on this site are the recent findings of the West of England Workforce Development Plan highlighting the skills challenges faced by tourism and hospitality businesses in the West of England and the proposed activities of the Tourism Skills Network to overcome these challenges.
